Lower School Cast Information Packet
Please read the following information carefully.
REGISTER HERE.
Who: All interested M-5th grade students may participate in the musical.
There are three rehearsal groups at the lower school level:
Grades M-2
Grades 3 & 4
Grade 5
Joins the MS cast for several rehearsals in addition to 5th grade-only rehearsal.
5th graders will have a unique opportunity to be selected for understudy roles, and other highlighted moments and/or roles throughout the musical.
Tech Pioneers may join the crew as Jr. Crew Members.
M- 5th graders do not need to audition to participate in the ensembles.
The choruses/ensemble groups are integral to the musical and will include dancing, singing, acting, and prop opportunities.
The parts/roles & scenes will be divided amongst grades after each grade’s skill level is determined at the first few LS rehearsals.

Registrations are considered complete when the form and the activity fee have been submitted to the business office
Lower School students wishing to participate should complete a participation form and submit it with your $150 activity fee. The activity fee is non-refundable.
Each child receives a t-shirt & script to keep and access to mp3s of our songs.
All script/song materials will be distributed in late November.

Registration closes on Tuesday, November 28th, 2023.
REHEARSALS
Lower School cast members attend approximately between 4 to 6 Thursday rehearsals leading up to tech & show week.
Lower School weekly rehearsals occur on Thursday afternoons from 3:20-4:30 p.m. in the theatre.
Weekly rehearsals are often called grade-level groupings; usually every other week or every two weeks.
The full rehearsal schedule will be released and posted online once registration has closed, as the number of participants in each grade level determines the rehearsal schedules.
Please mark your calendars with the following scheduled rehearsals.
There is an all-lower school cast rehearsal on Thursday, November 30th.
There is a 3rd - 5th-grade cast rehearsal on Thursday, January 4th.
There is an M - 2nd-grade cast rehearsal on Thursday, January 11th.
SUNDAY REHEARSALS
Sunday, March 3, and Sunday, March 10, are MANDATORY for all cast and crew.
Other LS Cast Sunday Rehearsals are scheduled for January 28, February 4, February 11, and February 25.
Cast members may not miss more than 2 Sunday rehearsals. Those missing more than 2 Sunday rehearsals may risk being removed from song/dance numbers.
Rehearsal times/duration are appropriate to each age range/grade level. Sunday rehearsal times are TBD until we have a few LS Thursday rehearsals to see how many in each grade are participating so that we may customize the schedule for each grade, making it efficient and fun for all participants.
Duration of Sunday rehearsals:
Grades M-2 are typically 90-ish minutes, typically from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Grades 3 & 4 vary between 2 and 3 hours as we get closer to the show.
Grade 5 varies between 3 and 4 hours as we get closer to the show.
There are NO Sunday rehearsals over MLK weekend or Presidents’ Day weekend.
TECH WEEK/SHOW WEEK
ALL rehearsals during tech and dress rehearsal week are mandatory:
March 12, 13, 14, and 15.
Tech week rehearsals are slightly longer. Please see below. Snacks & breaks are provided.
March 14 & 15 are dress rehearsal days during school conference hours.
