Remaining Rehearsals Schedule Updates

 

The Middle School Remaining 2/15 through 3/19/24 and the Lower School TBD Sunday times for 2/25, 3/3, and 3/10 have been released. Also, third -fifth-grade cast members are invited to optional Tuesday middle school rehearsal(s) to be blocked into their places for their 3rd-8th grade song and scene number(s). 

We encourage your child to attend these opportunities for extra rehearsal if they are available. 

All changes have been denoted in yellow in the schedules. The schedules are linked below, on the schedules pages, and the links to the side of this post!

Greeting Agrabahns!

Thank you for a wonderful Sunday of music, choreography, laughter, and hard work!

We're at school wrapping up today's rehearsal, evaluating the dances and music we learned today relative to what we still need to learn based on today's progress.

We are planning the next steps for our upcoming performances.

The finalized schedule for the remaining Sundays will be shared later tonight (a bit of a delay from this morning's anticipated release). This allows us time to debrief, make a few edits to the remaining schedule, and grab our first meals of the day! .:)

Your patience is appreciated as we ensure the successful and organized continuation of our rehearsals.

SUNDAY 2/4/24 Rehearsal and Reminders!

REHEARSAL TIMES

Reminder: What do I need to bring to Sunday rehearsals?

FOOD/WATER:

• A water bottle
• A snack/multiple snacks for rehearsals that are 2 hours or longer.
• A lunch for rehearsals that are LONGER than 3.5 hours. 
• EVERYONE--->Please make sure to eat breakfast before coming to rehearsal!
• Please follow our nut-free policies regarding food brought to school.
• No delivery services are allowed during rehearsals.

TO BRING SCRIPTS OR NOT TO BRING SCRIPTS?

• Students in Mechina through 2nd grade do NOT need to bring their scripts to rehearsal!
• Students in 3rd grade through 8th grade should bring their scripts to rehearsal.
• The crew only needs to bring scripts to rehearsal beginning on March 3, 2024.

IT IS VITAL TO THE SUCCESS OF REHEARSAL THAT ALL PARTICIPANTS EAT A GOOD BREAKFAST PRIOR TO REHEARSAL.

 
Please ensure your child has eaten prior to their arrival and rehearsal call times.

 
Hungry bellies make for irritable humans who find it hard to focus and have enough energy to participate in rehearsal!

WHAT IS THIS SUNDAY'S CLOTHING THEME?

ALL CAST & CREW NEON or FAVORITE MUSICIAN/BAND SPIRIT WEAR THIS SUNDAY!


ALL Cast & Crew may wear appropriate neon clothing or, in honor of the Grammys, your favorite concert, musician, band, or singer shirt to rehearsal this Sunday if you want to participate in spirit wear rehearsal day! Please remember to wear shoes in which you can dance. NO CROCS OR OPEN TOES!

Those attending until 1pm should pack a snack/light lunch, water bottle, and script.

Those attending from 9:30 to 11:00, please bring a water bottle. Reminder: Grades M through 2 do not need to bring their scripts.

Upcoming Rehearsals and last call for LS Costume Forms!

 

Hello, talented cast and crew, alumni mentors, and parents of Aladdin Jr.!

As we embark on this magical carpet ride together, we're excited to announce that our first Sunday rehearsal is just around the corner on 1/28. This is where our journey truly begins, and where we start to bring the vibrant world of Agrabah to life!

As we gear up for this exciting phase, we want to ensure everyone is on the same page. To help you prepare, we've put together a comprehensive Sunday FAQ section. It's filled with all the information you need for a smooth and successful rehearsal. You can find all the details you need here. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with it before Sunday, 1/28. Please also remember there is NO Sunday rehearsal over Presidents Day weekend.

Looking ahead to next week, please note that we've made some adjustments to the rehearsal schedule for our MS CAST. To compensate for our unexpected "snow" day (who knew Agrabah could get snow?), we're changing the Tuesday MS rehearsal schedule. We'll extend our MS CAST time together until 6:15pm instead of dismissing at 5:30 pm. This is noted on the upcoming rehearsals graphic above. Keep an eye on your emails for additional updated times over the next 2 -3 weeks so we can make up the missed two hours of rehearsal!

LAST CALL! A special reminder for all our Little Stars (LS) - Costume Forms need your attention ASAP! It's crucial that we have everyone's correct sizing on file. This will ensure that everyone looks their absolute best when we take to the stage. We have 85% of the form in (YAY!). If you haven't already, please submit your LS Costume Forms ASAP. The form will no longer accept responses after Monday.

This show promises a spectacular adventure, and we can't wait to see everyone bring their talents and enthusiasm to our rehearsals. Remember, 'In the heart of Agrabah, every day's a new adventure' - and our adventure is just beginning!

Aladdin Jr. is kicking into full swing!

REHEARSALS FOR THE WEEK OF JANUARY 8TH - JANUARY 12TH

TUESDAY, JANUARY 9

3:45 - 5:30 pm     ALL MS CAST

Many of our MS Cast members are attending Aladdin at the Fox Theatre on Tuesday, so we are canceling the 5:30 pm to 6:15 rehearsal group so that those attending the show may arrive to the show on time. 

Please note the 5:30 - 6:15 pm Aladdin, Jasmine, Isir, Manal, and Rajah rehearsal call is now MOVED from Tuesday, 1/9, to Tuesday, 1/16, from 5:45 to 6:30 pm.

 REMINDER FOR OUR MS CAST/CREW & 4th -5th grade Cast Members!

LOOK! It is our Guest Artist- Marcus Martin! 

On Friday, January 12th, 2024, we have the incredible privilege of hosting Marcus Martin, a Guest Artist from Broadway Plus who plays THE GENIE in the North American National Tour of Aladdin. Marcus will be leading a special workshop and Q&A session for our Aladdin Thespians. 

The Middle School Cast of Aladdin will be actively participating in the workshop, refining and perfecting some of their captivating numbers from the production. We believe this hands-on experience will inspire our aspiring young performers and provide valuable insights into the world of professional theater.

Details of the event are as follows:

• Date: Friday, January 12th
• Time: During blocks 2, 3, and study hall/club time
• Location: Lower School Theatre
• We will walk down our MS participants and walk them back in time for block 4.

4th and 5th-grade Aladdin students will also be invited to observe the workshop and participate in the engaging Q&A session. 4th and 5th grade students will report to the theatre at 9:10 am and be back in class at 10:50 am.  This is a fantastic opportunity for them to witness the creative process and gain valuable insights into the world of Broadway. 

We can't express enough how much we believe this event will contribute to our students' artistic growth and inspiration. We hope you share our excitement!

 LOWER SCHOOL CAST, PLEASE READ! 

Please fill out and submit a costume form by the date listed below.  It is very important to receive these asap. Thanks!

THE LOWER SCHOOL COSTUME SZING FORM IS DUE THIS MONDAY, JANUARY 8th. We are on a tight ordering, making, and design deadline.  Please submit your form by the end of Monday. Thank you in advance for your assistance with this!
